International academic exchange facilitates the integration of the University in the world’s scientific and educational community, contributes to the status and mission of SamSMU.

The team of Academic mobility and recruiting of the Samara State Medical University coordinates all the aspects of study placement for students, resident doctors, postgraduate students, University staff and medical specialists. It also supports those, wishing to find the suitable academic exchange program and a partner educational institution. The team helps to prepare an application form, submission documents for all the programs of academic exchange and consults the applicants on the details of the programs.

Our tasks and objectives

The scope of our activities is:

  • integration in the global educational environment;
  • support and facilitation of international cooperation in terms of academic exchange;
  • intensification of research activity;
  • updating of the educational system;
  • enhancement of the quality of education.

Our main objectives are:

  • to organize the selection of candidates for international educational programs among our students, postgraduate students, the University staff;
  • to support the students during their study placement abroad, to communicate with the host institutions;
  • to monitor the procedures of acceptance of international credits;
  • to coordinate the special scholarship programs of the international partner institutions;
  • to search, to implement, and to execute new projects and programs of international academic mobility.

Academic exchange and training programs

IFMSA

The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), founded in 1951, is one of the worlds oldest and largest student-run organisations. It represents, connects and engages every day with an inspiring and engaging network of 1.3 million medical students from 133 NMOs in 123 countries around the globe.

IFMSA brings people together to exchange, discuss and initiate projects to create a healthier world. It gives its members the skills and resources to be health leaders. It advocates for pressing issues that matter to shape the world we want. And it does deliver: our projects, our campaigns and our activities positively impact the physicians-to be and the communities they serve.

IFMSA runs two types of exchanges programs, professional and research exchanges, that are both endorsed by the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME), the World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians (WONCA), the Federation of European Neurosciences Societies (FENS), the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM), the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA), the International Pediatric Association (IPA) and the World Psychiatric Association (WPA).

HCCM (National Union of Medical Students) is an official representative of IFMSA in the Russian Federation. Annually, about 40 — 50 students of SamSMU take part in IFMSA exchange programs, the equal number of international exchange students come to the University.

Direct contracts

SamSMU has the direct cooperation agreements with educational institutions in the following countries: Uzbekistan, Belarus, Macedonia, Germany, France. The exchange programs cover different educational possibilities.
